STATION 13.2
Synchrotron Light Area
Functional Description
Station 13.2 is the SRS machine diagnostic beamline used by the Accelerator Section, providing visible light for the following uses:
- Real-time monitor of the electron beam, relayed to the Main Control Room
- Monitoring of source dimensions to aid operation in different machine modes
- Operations measurement of beam purity for single-bunch operation
- Diagnostics for machine behaviour studies, e.g. measurements of bunch length, damping time, instabilities
Technical Description :
Station 13.2 comprises a steerable water-cooled horizontally-deflecting SiC plane mirror, which provides 5mrad of divergent visible light from the Dipole 13 source point.
Development
Upgrade of software to integrate with SRS Control System.
Proposed Development
Upgrade of CCD image profiling to use digital imager.
