New users will benefit from reading through the full manual. In all cases, before you start your data collection, please ensure that:
- You have picked up a copy of your risk assessment from the Machine Control Room and displayed it on the clip board outside the station.
- You have registered with Administration as a User, and are wearing the identification badge issued to you.
- You have watched the SRS safety video, and signed the card
Before you leave:
- Please complete the Beamtime Declaration and User Satisfaction Form , recording any problems, observations or comments. It also acts as a receipt of beam time. If you don't fill it in, it will be assumed you have received your allocation.
- Make sure you have backed-up your data
Heavy metal toxins are occasionally brought to the station. Keep the quantities small, in dilute solution wherever possible. Injesting these toxins is hazardous. Please minimise food or drink consumption at the station
It is advisable not to work alone at night. In the event of an accident or emergency, a colleague would be able to raise the alarm.
